Shooting Gifts

Shooting Gifts - Shooting is the most fabulous way of getting lots of fresh air into your lungs. An early morning start may seem a little too much hard work on your day off, but as soon as you turn up and get out of your car, you are greeted by madly excited dogs, paws already caked in mud and the immediate banter from the other guns as they remind each other how bad a shot they really are! The adrenaline quickly takes over your sleepy head. On the more civilsed shoot a small dram of whisky, sloe gin, brandy, ready mixed gin and tonic or mulled wine kick starts the morning very nicely. (I think I shoot better with a small top up from the night before, although don't tell the captain, I'm very safe really!) I use our own (Brand new for 2013) Pheasant hip flask. There is our own glorious water colour of a pheasant on a round metal plate on the front of the flask. We have matching oval Pheasant cufflinks too by Billylinks Cufflinks. If you just fancy a warm drink, then our Fine bone china pheasant mug is a lovely idea to serve up a tea or coffee. We have put "Good morning" on the Pheasant mug too! Then it's off to your first and hopefully very busy peg to get your eye in. Yes, it's usually now when you find out what sort of standard you're going to be for the day, sheer luck with me! Stopping for lunch is one of the most welcoming highlights of the day. Here's where we come in! Again, if you're on a posh do and you're lucky enough to be at a table (and not squashed into the back of a trailer with a wet spaniel) then some shooting themed tableware is always a super addition to set the scene. We have recently designed and produced a super new range of Pheasant butter dishes and sauce pots. They are silver plated then electro lacquered to avoid tarnishing. Also, we have a very grand set of 4 Pewter Pheasant place card holders to ensure everyone sits where you would like them to! Our pewter Pheasant salt and pepper set is quite simply one of most popular items and I guarantee if you were to give these to any man or woman, game keeper or beater, they would be thrilled to bits. The same Pheasant pewter model also comes as a very novel toothpick holder or pickle forks. After a fine lunch, you're either recharged or "re" ally bug#ered! , you check the weather and hopefully all looks fine! Off you go to hopefully improve your morning bag and to show everyone that you really are quite good actually! End of the day comes, it's back to the table or to the pub. The mixture of fresh air, fine food and alcohol kicks in and boy, do you sleep that night. The fact that you may have shot a few reared birds is secondary, it's the whole event, meeting new people from all walks of life and all that fresh air!
